Introduction
A modern home has many water connections (sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee machine, washing machine, sink, etc.) and is vulnerable to leaks and water spills.
Waterguard+ is well suited for the detection of water leaks in both wet and dry wet rooms. Without a drain and membrane, a leak can lead to damage to floors, walls and furnishings. By placing sensors in places where water will typically accumulate in the event of a leak, you will be able to effectively reduce the scope of a water leak.
Water detection is done using the Sensor Tape directly connected to the Linkbox+ or the wireless water sensor WaterSensor+. See Waterguard+ installation solutions for detailed descriptions of installation at different locations, including the installation of Linkbox+ and Waterguard+ valves for automatic water shut-off.
Outline of principles
WaterSensor+ (A) connected to Linkbox+ (B) and Sensor Tape (shown as dotted line).
NOTE! Water sensors should always be installed at the lowest point, or in the transition between wet rooms and surrounding rooms.
Installation
Wiring diagram - installation of wireless water sensor WaterSensor+
Water sensor(s) should be mounted at the following locations:
- Kitchen - under the sink (under the plinth) and near the dishwasher in the kitchen - Waterguard+ installed in the kitchen
- Toilet room and bathroom - when draining/overflowing from cistern boxes, behind washing machine and when transitioning from wet room to surrounding room - Waterguard+ installed in bathroom and toilet room
- Basement and technical room - on floors near water pipes and pumps, as well as at the main intake in a detached house or main intake for apartments with shared facilities (VV+KV).
- Laundry room - by washing machine and water intake (corresponding description for Waterguard+ installed in bathroom and toilet room.
- Garage - on the floor for general detection and at any water taps and pipes.
- Attics – in locations where roof leaks may occur and under HVAC systems that may leak

Wiring Diagram – Installation of Sensor Tape
SensorTape is installed in conjunction with Linkbox+. A home often has only one Linkbox+ and is usually connected to one (1) Sensor Tape with Jack that is 3 meters long. If this is not sufficient to cover the relevant detection area, it can be extended with an additional additional sensor tape and split in two (2) different directions. The total length of the Sensor Tape is up to 12 meters when combining Sensor Tape with Jack, Sensor Tape, Sensor Tape joint and splitter for Sensor Tape.
