Introduction
This article describes the location of the Linkbox+ central unit, sensor tape for water leak detection, valves for hot and cold water control, and an external switch panel for controlling the water supply and setting off water alarms.
Detailed information on the installation of the individual products is available in the Waterguard+ installation and user manual.
Solution description
The Linkbox+ is installed in distribution cabinets in close proximity to valves. Sensor tape is connected to the Linkbox+ for detection of water leaks at the bottom of distribution cabinets.
Abra ModePanel+ is placed in a suitable location, typically by the front door, to activate Home mode, Away mode or to set a water alarm.
Outline of principles
The Abra ModePanel+ (5) has the following buttons and controls:
- Home (open valve)
- Away (close valve)
- Cancel alarm
OBS! To open the valves, click and hold the Linkbox+ button for three seconds, until you hear a "beep".
Installation
The Linkbox+ (B) is mounted on the included bracket inside the distribution cabinet and connected to 2 ball valves 1/2" (DN15) (or 3/4" (DN20)) (C) which are installed on the supply of hot and cold water. A wall socket with 230V AC is installed inside the distribution cabinet. Splitter for network cable and a total of 3x network cables are used for the installation of 2 valves. Sensor tape (D) is connected to the central unit, pulled down at the bottom of the distribution cabinet and secured with double-sided tape for water leak detection.
If necessary, wireless water sensors of the type Waterguard WaterSensor+ can be installed in locations prone to leakage or where the requirements of technical regulations require this.
Note! The distribution cabinet should have a plastic door or with a plastic segment to minimize the effect on the wireless range between the Linkbox+ and any Zigbee-based wireless devices connected to the Linkbox+ (e.g. smart door locks or similar).
