Introduction
Waterguard+ can be connected to Building Management (or other third-party management) systems using a smart I/O module. Only Linkbox+ 4G can be used.
With the I/O module connected, the BMS system will receive leakage alarms. It will also enable the possibility to open and close the valve, clear alarms and see system system status from ther BMS system.
The I/O module communicates with the Linkbox+ via Zigbee.
Solution description
One or more Linkbox+ 4G is installed and valves are connected for water protection in the relevant building. An I/O module is paired (Zigbee) with each individual Linkbox+. The I/O module use wired connections to the BMS. For more information about installation of the I/O module, see this article.
Principle sketch for integration via I/O module
Linkbox+ 4G (B) wireless connection to I/O-modul (R). Wired connection between the I/O module and one or more BMS systems (T). Valve(s) (C) is connected to the Linkbox+ 4G via Cat.6 cable.

Data transfer via I/O-modul
Input
- Signal for closing the valve
- Signal for opening the valve
- Signal for clearing the leakage alarm
Output
- Signal for leakage alarm (alarm not cleared)
- Signal for leakage alarm (alarm cleared)
- Signal for confirming valve open position
- Signal for confirming valve closed position
Connections
The I/O-modul (R) is connected to 5-28V DC power and to the BMS system via INPUT- and OUTPUT- ports on the I/O-modul. Use relevant Input/Output ports on the BMS interface (for sending and receiving signals + power if appropriate).

Abra Portal and remote building management control
In MDUs and commercial buildings, significant advantages can be achieved by using Abra as a top system. By implementing the Abra Portal (N), building managers can monitor systems status, detect and prevent unwanted situations at an early stage.
E.g., alarms between apartments if a smoke detector is triggered increases the safety for the residents without the need for implementing additional systems and solutions.
The Abra universe is in continuous development and more and more parts of the technical building infrastructure will be compatible with Abra in the future
