If you have a small leak, have accidentally spilled water on a water sensor, or experience a false alarm and want to OPEN the water supply, follow the steps below.
In many cases, false alarms will be caused by sensor tape not being installed correctly or having been damaged. See the article Alarm is triggered and the water shuts off, but I can't find any ongoing leak. What should I do? to rectify.
MEASURE 1 - Open water supply after triggered water alarm
1. Silence the alarm by pressing a button on the Linkbox+ once (1x).
-
If the water sensor(s) are dry, the alarm will be silenced.
-
If the water sensor(s) are continuously wet, the alarm will snooze for 60 minutes before reactivating and shutting off the water.
NOTE! The water alarm and shut-off of the water supply will be reactivated within 60 minutes if the water on all water sensor(s) dries up and new water is added.
2. OPEN the valve by pressing and holding the button on the Linkbox+ for 3 seconds until you hear a "beep".
It is also possible to set the alarm and open the valve by following the instructions in the Abralife app, see instructions in the articles Setting the water alarm and Opening and closing the valve in the Abra support portal.
REMEDY 2 - Disabling Water Sensor(s) Leading to Water Alarm
If it is not possible to rectify the leak or prevent false alarms and it is necessary to open the water supply, sensors can be deactivated by:
1. Remove water sensor tape from the Linkbox+ and/or remove the battery of wireless WaterSensor+ that (incorrectly) reports a water leak.
2. Press and hold the button on the Linkbox+ for > 10 seconds. This will disable disconnected water sensors. NOTE! Wireless sensors will not show as disconnected until 3 hours have passed after the battery has been removed.
Follow the instructions as indicated above under OPEN water supply after triggering water alarm to open the water supply. Sensors that are reconnected will be automatically activated.
It is also possible to deactivate water sensors by following instructions in the Abralife app.
MEASURE 3 - Emergency opening of water supply by disconnecting valve in open position
If none of the above measures work, the valve can be disconnected from the power supply in the open position so that the system still detects water leaks, but does not shut off the water supply.
Ball valve
Ball valves remain in the last position if power supply is removed. It is therefore necessary to run the valve to the open position before disconnecting the valve.
1. OPEN the valve by pressing and holding the button on the Linkbox+ for 3 seconds until you hear a "beep" and make sure the valve opens.
2. Immediately remove the valve cable between the Linkbox+ and the valve by disconnecting the RJ45 connector.
Select: If the valve is still closed, follow the instructions below !! to manually override valve from the CLOSED to OPEN position.
Solenoid valve
Remove the valve cable between the Linkbox+ and the Linkbox+ Power Adapter and Solenoid Solenoid Valves 24V DC / 230V AC by unplugging the RJ45 connector. Solenoid valves are normally open (NO) and will open immediately.
MEASURE 4 - Emergency opening of water supply by disabling the system
If no other measures work, remove the power adapter from the wall socket that supplies power to the Linkbox+ and valves. For ball valves, make sure the valve is in the open position before drawing power. Follow instructions under MEASURE 4 - Emergency opening of the water supply by disconnecting the valve in the open position.
